Forgot to say .....

All this talk of dogs packing for their holidays reminded me - at immigration in Philadelphia there was a lovely beagle greeting passengers in the queue as they were waiting to be processed.

He didn't seem to realise that he was supposed to be sniffing people for drugs, but he did have his official 'coat' on to show the visitors that he was important.  I thought that Harris might be envious of an official position like that with the 'Homeland Security' jacket, but then it would mean having to work and that is not good!

Once we had got in to the country officially, we had to change terminals and immediately start the process of being screened for eventual departure.  I was randomly stopped to have the palms of my hands swabbed and the swab analysed and then they let me continue.

A Thought for Catherine and Andrew
Do bring a gang socket - the lightest one you can get hold of with at least 4 sockets on it.  If need be get one from our stock in the garage next the the recycling bottle boxes.  We've each found it very useful to have one in our bedrooms to keep technology going.  There is one here plugged in here in the kitchen area with 3 empty spaces as I write, but it is good to have your own one.  If you can find a lightweight one for Mum as well in the garage, we might find a second one useful in our bedroom.  At the moment I have two unused adaptors here with US plugs on.  I may have left at least one more on the bed in Catherine's room.

I'll try to do a mini list of things you may find useful here but which may not be on your packing lists yet.

  2. I think Harris would consider that to be most demeaning!

  3. Think I've gone through the list when we Skyped on Wednesday. Main thing is bring a gang socket - or two! Modern living demands it!
